As The Chance - We Are Together Foundation, we carried out the project “Taming The World – Intergenerational Community Theatre”, which was co-financed by the Minister of Culture and National Heritage under the National Centre for Culture’s SYNERGIE Programme. 2026 Edition.

Our starting point for the project was “The Little Prince” by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, which became the inspiration for a contemporary theatrical adaptation developed together with the participants and artists involved in the project. Through workshops, conversations and creative work, the group built its own interpretation of the story, shaped by their experiences, ideas and perspectives. The process culminated in a live theatre performance presented in Warsaw.

One of the most exciting parts of the project was our international cooperation with Tatjana Christelbauer MA from Austria and Tudor Paul Scripor from Romania.

Thanks to their involvement, the project gained a broader European perspective. Our participants had the opportunity to learn more about inclusive theatre, accessibility, art-based learning, multisensory approaches and practical solutions supporting blind and visually impaired people in cultural activities.

Tatjana shared her experience in inclusive education, intercultural communication and art-based learning, while Tudor introduced participants to multisensory accessibility, tactile methods and solutions connected with the Scripor Alphabet.

Their contribution was not limited to one meeting. They also supported the project during the preparation and creative stages, sharing recommendations on accessibility, tactile elements and inclusive ways of building the performance.

We are especially happy that this cooperation has also become part of our educational publication, where both experts contributed their comments and recommendations. The publication gathers good practices, experiences from the project and ideas that may inspire other cultural institutions and organisations.

An important part of the project was its inclusive character. We brought together people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences, including actors with disabilities. In the spirit of The Little Prince – “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye” – we wanted to create a space in which different ways of experiencing and perceiving the world could meet on equal terms.

The educational publication created as part of the project tells the story of this process, but it is also intended as a practical resource. It presents good practices and recommendations for creating inclusive theatre, including accessibility, multisensory approaches, working with diverse groups and involving people with disabilities in the creative process.

We hope it will be useful to everyone interested in making culture more inclusive, accessible and open to people of different ages, backgrounds and needs.

The publication is available in Polish here:

A huge thank you to Tatjana and Tudor for sharing your knowledge, experience and energy with us. It was a great opportunity for our participants to learn, exchange perspectives and discover new ways of thinking about accessibility and inclusive culture.
